This is the stream of Slaty Fork, where the abandoned Huttonsville-Huntersville Turnpike crosses over it; at the old Silas Sharp Homestead of the Sharp Farm. Slaty Fork merges with Old Field Fork, which in turn merges with Big Spring Fork to form the Elk River.
